The Grand (Hilton) Blackpool
The North West Regional Forum is proud to be hosting the FIRST EVER National Self-Advocacy Convention alongside our usual Conference this year so that we can share with a limited number of self-advocates from across the country exactly why #NWRF19 in Blackpool is the place to be 26-28 February 2019!
Arrangements are now being made for the North West Regional Conference 2019. This will be our 16th Annual Conference.
This year, for the first time in 16 years, we are opening our conference doors to the rest of the country. They’ve asked to come and see what we do, so let’s give them a conference to remember.
Hopefully we will meet lots of different people and be able to share lots of different ideas and maybe make some new friends.
This is a residential conference that runs over 3 days. Registration starts at 3pm on Tuesday 26thFebruary and the conference ends late afternoon on Thursday 28thFebruary. It is the only conference of its kind for people with a learning disability in the North West region.
Registration time for the Conference will be from 11:30amon Tuesday 26th February.
If you have booked a room at the hotel, it will be available from 3:00pm on that day.
The prices are as follows and are per person:-
All booking fees must be paid before the event, places are not confirmeduntil payment is received.
We will all be working hard during the day and covering lots of different issues. The conference gives people with learning disabilities a chance to get their voices heard and get their points of view across.
All the issues from the conference will be taken by your elected Representatives to make sure your voices are heard locally, in the NW, across the North of England and Nationally.
There will be speeches during this conference from people who can make things change.
To think about the difference between advocacy and advocating.
There will be plenty of workshops run at different times during the conference about things that people with learning disabilities have said are important. Have a look at what we did last year by downloading the newsletter here.
After working hard all day, there will then be a chance to unwind at night. There will be fun and games and plenty of chance for dancing at the disco and singing on karaoke.
The bar will be open at night during our stay.
NOTE: Places fill up quickly so please book early to avoid disappointment.
The application form must be fully filled in and returned for your places to be fully booked!!
